Igp honey from Provence
Lavender honey (lavandin) is harvested at low altitude. It comes from lavender crops. In the liquid state, this honey is golden yellow but the color whitens when stirred. Delicate and long in the mouth, its aroma is slightly fruity. Excellent preservation. Harvest: end of July.
We have chosen to join our peers in the Syndicate of Provence Honeys in the Southern Alps by having our lavender honey labeled as Igp miel de Provence. The protected geographical indication guarantees the typically Provençal geographical and floral origin of the honey.
More information on the Igp label:
"This label indicates that the honey and the beekeeping operation are regularly checked: control of the location of the apiaries, verification of the traceability, the hygiene of the honey house and the equipment.
All under the supervision of an independent control body.
Laboratory analyzes are carried out each year on batches of honey taken from the farm or from points of sale. The geographical origin of the honey is systematically verified. Thanks to the different pollens present in the honey, the laboratory is able to determine if the honey is compatible with the Provence origin"
